CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Civil Engineer to join our Land Development Team in Syracuse, NY. In this role, you'll support site planning, civil design, and permitting efforts across a diverse range of development projects. This is an exciting opportunity to build a strong technical foundation, learn from experienced professionals, and see your work progress from early concepts through construction-while making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.



What You'll Do:

    Assist in site planning and civil design tasks for land development projects, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility layouts
  • Support senior engineers in preparing site plans, construction drawings, technical reports, and permit applications for land development projects
  • Perform calculations and design tasks using industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and best practices
  • Join field assignments with senior staff to gain hands-on experience in observing existing conditions, construction activities, and site constraints of land development projects


What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • No experience required; however prior internships and/or relevant coursework are preferred
  • Strong theoretical foundation and familiarity with engineering software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team
  • Participation in professional engineering society/organization preferred
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification a plus

Salary Range:

$70,000 - $78,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
