Controller - Job Description

Position Overview
The Controller will lead the accounting and financial reporting functions for a fast-growingtechnology company. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, experience in a technology or high-growth environment, and the ability to partner with leadership across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

  • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

  • Partner with leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.

  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business growth and operational decision-making.

  • Monitor cash flow and assist in managing the company's financial performance.

  • Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Evaluate and improve accounting processes, systems, and reporting tools to increase efficiency and scalability.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • CPA preferred.

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with leadership experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

  • Experience with financial systems and ERP platforms.

  • Experience working with Campfire SaaS technology strongly preferred.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a technology, SaaS, or marketing technology environment.

  • Experience with revenue recognition and subscription-based business models.

  • Background supporting a fast-paced, high-growth organization.
