The Clinical Manager, Home Infusion Pharmacy Services provides clinical, operational, and programmatic leadership to supporthighquality,safe, and efficient home infusion pharmacy services. This role leads assigned areas of responsibility in clinical practice and pharmacy operations, driving improvements in patient care, regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, and workforce development.The Clinical Manager works collaboratively across hospitals and interdisciplinary teams, including nursing, finance, andlogistics, to ensure seamless infusion services across the continuum of care.

This position reports to the Director of Enterprise Infusion.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical and Operational Leadership


  • Leads assigned areas of responsibility in clinical and/or operationaldecisionmaking, with a focus on improving patient care outcomes and service quality.

  • Coordinates departmental operational and clinical initiatives through direct reports and in collaboration with related practices and service lines.

  • Leads the development and implementation of financial and operational plans within areas of responsibility.

  • Anticipates future clinical and operational needs and assumes a leadership role in developing solutions to meet those needs.


Program and Staff Management


  • Providesprogramlevelmanagement as well asshiftspecificmanagement for assigned areas.

  • Performs supervisory responsibilities including recruitment,selection, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, coaching, counseling, and corrective action of pharmacy staff.

  • Promotes staff engagement, professional growth, and retention through clear communication, mentorship, and leadership development.


Process Improvement and Policy Development


  • Leads the development and continuous improvement of processes and workflows to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

  • Proactivelyidentifiesopportunities to improve performance, customer satisfaction, and resourceutilizationwhile minimizing waste.

  • Develops andmaintainspolicies, procedures, and standard operating procedures, and contributes to clinical decision support in response to clinical, operational, and financialdruguseneeds.

  • Ensuresappropriate communicationand staff education occur prior to implementation of new policies, guidelines, or workflow changes.


Clinical Practice and Education


  • Provides clinical and operational pharmacist services to patients asrequiredto support home infusion operations.

  • Provides clinical or operational leadership throughinserviceeducation, presentations, and publications related to medication use, drug policy, and themedicationusesystem.

  • Teaches and mentors students, residents, and new pharmacy staff, andparticipatesinscholarly and professional activities that advance pharmacy practice.


Compliance and Quality


  • Ensurescompliance with federal, state, local, and institutional regulations, accreditation standards, and departmental policies.

  • Conducts audits and monitoring activities to ensure adherence to regulatory and quality standards.

  • Supports quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts across home infusion services.


Financial Stewardship


  • Supports the development of budgets and financial stewardship goals for assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Monitors financial, productivity, and operational performance and addresses variances throughdatadriveninterventions.


Collaboration and Relationship Management


  • Builds andmaintainseffective working relationships with nursing, finance,logistics, providers, and operational partners across the health system.

  • Solicits and incorporates stakeholder feedback to continuously improve pharmacy services and customer satisfaction.

Education Requirements:
* PharmD or BS Pharmacy Degree.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* Active pharmacist licensure with the NC Board of Pharmacy or obtainable before initiation of employment.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* Three years pharmacist experience or equivalent required.
