Quality Control Field Technician

We are seeking a Quality Control Field Technician for County Materials in Astatula, Florida

The Concrete Field Technician is responsible for performing field sampling and testing of fresh concrete to verify compliance with project specifications, technical standards, and quality control requirements. The technician will work at construction sites and at production plants to track the quality of the concrete produced and placed. Traveling will be 100% of this position.

Job Duties:

• 
  

  * Perform sampling of fresh concrete according to ASTM standards

  
  
• 
  

  * Conduct field testing including slump/slump flow, air content, temperature, and unit weight.

  
  
• 
  

  * Prepare, label, and cure concrete cylinders for compressive strength testing.

  
  
• 
  

  * Monitor water addition at the jobsite.

  
  
• 
  

  * Verify mix design compliance and review concrete delivery tickets.

  
  
• 
  

  * Document and report field testing results accurately.

  
  
• 
  

  * Observe concrete placement and ensure compliance with the expected quality level.

  
  

Work Environment:

• Work in indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperatures
• Work near moving machinery and equipment - could include electrical hazards
• Work in a noisy environment

Physical Requirements:

• Carrying/Lifting 10 - 40 Pounds frequently
• Carrying/Lifting > 40 Pounds occasionally
• Standing / Walking / Climbing
• Squatting/Crouching/Kneeling/Bending
• Pushing / Pulling / Reaching Above Shoulder

Experience & Qualifications:

• Understanding of a manufacturing environment.
• Drivers License with good record, you will drive company car.
• Concrete plant and/or quality control experience highly desired.
• Ability to interpret shop drawings and job specifications.
• Proficient Computer Skills with Microsoft Office.
• Solid math aptitude.
• MUST be Flexible with your work schedule to fit our clients needs.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• High School diploma or equivalency required.
• 1-2 years prior experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in the construction and/or building materials industry preferred, not required.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician certified preferred.
