As an intern you will gain valuable work experience in a professional environment. Our interns play an essential role in the departments they are part of, working on special projects, and networking with our teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects as assigned projects related to Marketing, including performing research, compiling data and making recommendations.
  • Works under general supervision, performs routine duties related to and preparing, and assembling documentations.
  • Support the marketing team.
  • Assist in the creation of signage, mockups, and social media content.
  • Assist in planning and hosting marketing events.
  • Interpersonal skills to meet and deal effectively with the banks in a courteous manner responding to a variety of situations with professional discretions.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication to maintain quality customer service in all aspects of the position.
  • Has open communications with supervisor through sharing and accepting suggestions and ideas.
  • Adjustment to change is made as necessary while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date.
  • Regular and predictable attendance to accomplish job duties and provide in-person contact with customers.
  • Interpersonal skills to meet and deal effectively with the banks in a courteous manner responding to a variety of situations with professional discretion. Well developed written and verbal communication skills to maintain quality customer service in all aspects of the position.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in the Montana State University Business Banking program - Jake Jabs College of Business
  • Be pursing a degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Desire to purse a career in Community Banking
  • Experience with marketing computer software, online applications, VRM analytics, and Google Adwords
  • A high degree of reliability and dependability used to follow-through and meet commitments and agreements in a timely manner
  • Exhibits excellent responsiveness and follow-up in assuming responsibility for and delivering on commitments
  • Demonstrated high level of quality, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Internship will begin May 2026 through August 2026.
  • Expected work days are Monday through Friday 8-5. Flexibility of working hours will be available.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Assist in the creation of signage, mock-ups, and social media content
  • Seek and analyze competitor marketing material and digital content
  • Create and maintain tracking reports of digital and traditional marketing efforts
  • Develop new social media campaings, considering current and plannned promotional activities
  • Monitor social channels
  • Provide administrative support to management when required
  • Assist in planning an hosting marketing events
  • Excellent customer service skills and previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in many systems and software used by GBCI employees.
  • Projects a professional image to maintain credibility with customers and associates.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently to carry out assigned tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position. We offer an extensive benefits package that includes, but is not limited to medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Coverage is available to employees and their eligible dependents in accordance with our written plan documents. We also offer a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) plan and paid holidays. PTO accruals begin at .0745 per hour worked for our part time employees up to a maximum accrual of 240 hours per year for certain Full-Time employees. PTO accruals are dependent on position, status (Full time or Part time), and years of experience in accordance with our PTO policy. Most Full-Time employees are also offered 6 paid holidays and Part Time employees are offered pro-rated paid holidays.
