Position Summary The Training Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing the training of new and existing employees. The Training Supervisor will work closely with department managers to develop effective training programs and ensure that all training is up-to-date and relevant to current job requirements. This leader provides strategic direction and drives excellence in safety, production, quality control, and regulatory compliance, supporting Foster Farms' mission, vision, and ACTION guiding principles: Accountability, Collaboration, Truth-Seeking, Initiative, Ownership, and Nimbleness. The ideal candidate will have experience in training and development, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. Essential Functions
- Coordinate the onboarding of new employees by establishing and maintaining training retention programs.
- Work with Training Ambassadors who will ensure proper on the job training being conducted and follow through ramp-up programs.
- Ensure new hires are successful in the job they are hired for the following procedures: JSTA's regulatory guidelines on Food Safety, Quality and GMP's.
- Conduct weekly follow-up meetings with new hires prompting questions, creating a positive atmosphere, and reviewing our onboarding systems.
- Collaborate with front line supervision to complete and review the weekly evaluations to ensue feedback is constructive and timely regarding the employee's performance, conduct, attendance, and safety.
- Provide continuous feedback to front line supervision on the open requisitions and retention levels.
- Collaborate with department managers to create training plans tailored to specific job requirements.
- Coordinate and schedule training sessions, including logistics and materials.
- Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments based on feedback and performance metrics.
- Manage and maintain training records and documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in training and development.
- 80% Production floor and 20% Administrative.
- Cultivate a high-performance culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and personal development.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards (USDA, OSHA, PSM), as well as Foster Farms' internal standards for safety, food safety, and environmental stewardship.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment for all team members.
- Build and lead a high-performing, diverse team of maintenance and reliability professionals, modeling Foster Farms' ACTION principles in every decision and interaction.
Success Measures
- Safety: FSQA audit scores, safety rates, and environmental compliance.
- Operations: Yield efficiency, line efficiency, and labor management.
- People: Retention, internal promotions, training, and team engagement.
Qualifications
- B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Management or equivalent work experience (preferably in a manufacturing industry)
- Must have at least three years of supervisory experience in a production environment.
- Must have demonstrated good interpersonal communication skills with a positive attitude; ability to read and write in English.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to evaluate employees fairly and objectively.
- Must have strong computer skills.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check, E-Verify, and drug screen.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
