Summary


The production planner I is entry level supply chain role that will be responsible for learning, developing and implementing production schedules while optimizing resources and minimizing costs. This involves analyzing production specifications, capacity, inventory levels, and coordinating with different departments and personnel to ensure timely and efficient production processes. The Production Planner must also monitor and report progress, identify and troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments as needed to ensure on-time delivery and quality output.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Demonstrate basic understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and scheduling practices to support production operations.


  • Apply foundational knowledge of supply chain principles and production logistics to optimize workflow efficiency.


  • Develop and maintain production schedules effectively to meet customer delivery requirements and business objectives.


  • Coordinate cross-functionally with sales, purchasing, research and development, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment of production goals.


  • Track and report on production progress, delays, and updates, providing stakeholders with timely information on manufacturing status.


  • Identify and resolve production issues proactively to minimize disruptions and maintain operational continuity.


  • Utilize ERP systems and scheduling software to manage and monitor workflows, ensuring accurate data input and process tracking.


  • Assist with purchasingconsumables andKanBanitems at both sites, negotiating and governing supply contracts with vendors (ie: water contracts,ulinecontracts, waste management contractsetc), and support the buyer with procurement activities andensuringtimelyavailability of materials as needed.


  • Leads demand planning to within the SIOP process by pulling and organizing data for reports


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between supply chain and SIOP initiatives.


  • Supports digital transformation within the supply chain team and cross functionally.


  • Supports the integration of AI tools and technologies.


  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and related planning tools to support documentation and analysis requirements.


  • Participate in daily production meetings and weekly cross-functional scheduling reviews to facilitate communication and decision-making.


  • Work safely and follow all safety rules, policies, and procedures, reporting incidents and unsafe conditions as required.


  • Participate in monthly safety programs to maintain awareness and compliance with workplace safety standards.


  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and support efficiency improvements to enhance overall production performance.


  • Foster a culture of on-time delivery and production readiness through proactive planning and execution.


  • Other Duties as needed or required

Requirements

Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, operations management, supply chain management, or related field is preferred.


  • 2-4 years of manufacturing experience is preferred



Physical Demands - OFFICE / TRAVEL




  • Standing/Sitting: 75%


  • Walking/Bending/Stooping: 25%


  • Lifting Requirements: 25 pounds


  • Travel by air, rail, auto (10% of time)


  • Work in manufacturing area, QA lab and office areas


  • Exposures - Odors, Fumes, Noise, Chemicals, Temperature, Vision strain, Moving parts.
