Job Title: Category Consultant Salty Drug

Job Location: Chicago, IL, Boston, MA or Providence, RI

Summary

The Category Consultant will develop and implement retail initiatives to meet and exceed Hershey Salty objectives within the Drug Channel. The Category Consultant will be an expert in the pervasive application of insights to fuel retail growth. Key to role is synthesizing business trends, competitive trends, shopper insights, financial insights, etc., to identify opportunities and develop solutions to drive retail growth across the store. The Category Consultant will influence and support 3-year annual planning through the pervasive use of insights and capabilities. The Category Consultant will also assist the CVS and Walgreens Candy teams as needed.

Responsibilities

Serve as Category Captain to the customer

• Leverage syndicated, customer, and consumer data in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, etc. to mine and aggregate large amounts of data to assimilate national and retailer trends
• Develop, analyze, and proactively communicate category and competitive performance to CVS and Walgreens sales and commercial teams; Be the internal Salty Snack category expert for CVS and Walgreens
• Identify Best-In-Class distribution and shelving strategies for Salty Snacks to drive overall category growth and capture fair share for Hershey Salty brands
• Develop independent relationships with customer and key decision makers to position Hershey as a category insights expert and validator for Salty Snacks category
• Work collaboratively with Category Insights and Category Management teams to push strategic thinking and organizational shopper/category acumen
• Liaise with Marketing & Sales Planning teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities for product categories

Hershey Sales Partner

• Collaborates with sales team on meeting strategy and preparation to include, but not limited to Customer Reviews, GCIC, JBP, bi-weekly meetings, etc.
• Partners with Manager of Human Insights to develop and deploy the insights plan for the Drug channel

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree Required

Preferred Experience

• 3-5 years CPG Category Management and/or Sales experience.
• Knowledge of Circana, Excel, PowerBI, Numerator, JDA space planning software, etc.

Less than 15% travel required
