Overview
The Digital Solutions Executive Director for HCFS serves as the primary IT leader for ForHealth Consulting Digital Solutions, supporting the HCFS solution set. The Digital Solutions Executive Director for HCFS reports to the Managing Director of Digital Solutions. The DS ED is responsible for driving IT strategy, solution delivery, and operational support for HCFS, serving as a trusted technology advisor to the HCFS. Managing Director and leadership team. As the key IT partner for HCFS, this leader drives all technology initiatives, aligning IT resources, projects and activities closely to business needs and priorities. The HCFS IT Leader fosters a collaborative, business-aligned approach to solution development and operational support, working across teams to ensure alignment of enterprise standards and the delivery of high-value solutions. The HCFS DS ED ensures that IT services, solutions, and initiatives are strategically aligned with business goals and deliver measurable value. The HCFS DS ED is responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary team of IT staff, directing all HCFS IT activities and resources to help the business unit achieve its objectives through effective use of technology, while maintaining strong alignment with Digital Solutions leadership and strategy.
Responsibilities
Define and drive the business unit's IT strategy to align technology with business objectives, service excellence, internal client experience, and operational performance.
- Develop and execute an annual technology plan and goals for assigned areas and secure executive leadership approval in alignment with ForHealth Consulting's IT Roadmap and overall goals, priorities and strategy.
- Manage and oversee the effective execution of IT services and projects with a focus on scope, schedule, budget, quality, successful outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Identify and champion digital transformation initiatives that enhance business workflows, data integration, and coordination of services with the goal of improving efficiency, reducing cost, and creating a competitive advantage.
- Advise leadership on technology investments, innovation opportunities, and performance metrics.
- Oversee and direct the implementation, configuration, and optimization of the applications and tools used by clients and business units. Ensure projects are on time and meet deliverables and client expectations.
- Deliver realistic, well defined and accurately scoped proposals for new projects, upgrades, enhancements, and system maintenance.
- Develop a collaborative relationship with Digital Solutions Executive Director for HCFS and the broader Digital Solutions team, to identify, design, and implement technology enhancements focused on driving operational efficiency, and improvements in the user and client experience.
- Develop strong partnership with Business Intelligence to develop reporting and analytics capabilities that support services delivered by the assigned business units.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Shared Solutions teams to manage application life cycles including the development of an annual workplan identifying and prioritizing applications approaching end-of-life or requiring modernization.
- Collaborate with Security Architect to ensure alignment on security standards and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and interoperability standards and ensure adherence to enterprise standards, architecture, privacy and security in all HCFS IT activities.
- Lead and manage the HCFS IT solution set team, providing daily oversight, direction and management to achieve goals, deliverables and objectives.
- Support all HCFS IT needs including strategy, planning, budgeting, design, development, implementation, operations support, and coordination.
- Support business development, relationship development and client relationship management, representing Digital Solutions and HCFS in sales opportunities, proposals, client meetings, discussions and projects.
- Act as the advocate for the business unit within IT planning, governance, and budgeting processes.
- Oversee and manage the HCFS IT budget, including resource allocation, forecasting, and financial management. Direct IT budget and resource management for the HCFS business unit, including time tracking for project-level needs, vendor and development partner management, and surge staffing coordination.
- Establish and prioritize sub-teams as needed, in partnership with HCFS and Digital Solutions leadership, to focus on high-impact initiatives.
- Work with the Shared Solutions team to leverage common platforms, ensure integration, and promote standardization where appropriate.
- Collaborate with the Digital Solutions architecture/capture team to identify, select, design and deliver scalable solutions for HCFS for new business opportunities and to maintain and enhance the full portfolio of solutions supporting the business.
- Manage external solution partners, including UMass Chan IT and staff augmentation resources partners for approved projects.
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures for effective operation and security of HCFS IT systems.
- Monitor IT service performance and manage issue escalation for the business unit.
- Oversee and direct change management, communication, and adoption efforts related to IT initiatives.
- Track, measure, and report on the business value delivered by IT investments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, with direct experience supporting business units or functional areas
- Proven track record in IT strategy development, budget management, solution delivery, and operations
- Demonstrated ability to build effective partnerships with business leaders and serve as a trusted technology advisor.
- Strong understanding of healthcare industry trends, compliance requirements, and consulting environments
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and influence in a matrixed environment
- Deep experience with IT maturity, service management frameworks, and delivery methodologies
Additional Information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
- IT leadership experience in healthcare, human services or public sector
- Commercial consulting, service or solution delivery experience, with responsibility for project or client management
- PMP or Lean /Six Sigma certification
- Experience developing and applying metrics to measure and monitor the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of services, including developing and executing performance and service improvement plans
- Experience measuring and improving client satisfaction for technology services
