Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Career Management Specialist for the School of Management and Labor Relations.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides supplemental corporation/union/government/public service specific counseling.
- Coordinates campus visits and information sessions by such organizations.
- Collects, organizes, and maintains data in Handshake.
- Advises individual students on specific areas of job/internship search focused in the areas related to Human Resource Management and Labor Studies and Employment Relations.
- Supports undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni from the School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) programs.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Masters degree in Counseling or a field related to Human Resource Management or Labor Studies and Employment Relations.

| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office-Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal and effective presentation skills.
- Experience with career management concepts, exceptional listening skills, HR/ Labor/Recruiting experience.
- Experience utilizing the "Handshake" system.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Knowledge of the career management process; how to engage in an effective job search campaign. Experience in Career Coaching. Knowledge of HR/Labor recruiting practices with special emphasis on government, non-profit, union relations.

- Occasional night programs may run until 9 pm.

| Special Conditions |
- The position will be located at the Janice Levin Building on Livingston Campus, but may require periodic visits to the Labor Education Center on the Cook/Douglass campus.
- This is a part-time position, 0.8 FTE (30 hours per week).
- Work hours are to be scheduled within during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, with hours extended to 9 pm for special events, scheduled by mutual agreement.
- Hours are subject to change.
- This is a 10 month position.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply.
