IDG Ecosystem interns work on real-world projects, gain exposure to cross-functional teams, develop business acumen and get to network with various levels of Executive leadership. This paid program is based on site in Chicago, IL, and requires that you are located in the United States throughout the program

About the Team:

This internship offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with our talented engineering professionals, engage in problem-solving, and gain essential knowledge of the business. The primary objective is to inspire AI in our products for the future. Join us to work on critical AI-related projects in a less structured way. You will encounter various teams, including product development, customer experiences, product managers, services, and strategy. The program allows opportunities beyond our traditional internship program, and the topics students work on tend to be open-ended and exploratory.

Description and Requirements

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic group of students who are top of their class from Undergraduate Seniors, Masters Students, and students pursuing PhD degree programs in Computer Science or a related field. This program is best suited for students who will be able to commit to the full six-month duration.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in projects to develop solutions for real-world problems

  • Design and develop prototypes, proof-of-concept applications, or visualizations that showcase the practical applications of AI

  • Create predictive models and algorithms using machine learning techniques to forecast outcomes

  • Collect, clean, and analyze datasets relevant to solution development

  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team of experienced engineers

  • Shadow and learn about AI related to our devices, use cases, and 3rd party application ecosystem

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies

Essential Qualifications:

  • Currently, at least one of the statuses below in computer science or a related technical field:

  • A recent bachelor's college graduate or graduate upcoming Summer

  • A current master's student or graduate upcoming Summer

  • A student pursuing a PhD program

  • If currently a student, is currently attending a degree program in the United States

  • Experience with at least one or more of the following technical areas: Natural Language Understanding, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, Software Engineering, or similar areas

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a researcher, including internships, full-time, or at a lab

  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, C/C++, etc.)

  • Experience contributing to research communities or efforts, including publishing papers in major conferences or journals

  • Passionate about Artificial Intelligence

  • Strong Interest in server infrastructure, networking and IT solutions

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for technology

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges

The salary range budgeted for this position is $33 - $44 per hour and is based on years of educational experience.
