Organizational Unit Overview
University Communication (UC) translates ECU's message into strategic and compelling communication and campaigns through the university web site, news releases, its official social media, East magazine, storytelling, production of promotional videos and video news stories along with infographics, creation and development of promotional brochures, and annual reports. The purpose is to provide strategic communication and marketing guidance and support to increase the knowledge, understanding, appreciation and support of the University and its work with broad and varied constituencies, from prospective students to identified thought leaders to prospective donors.
Through ECU News Services UC performs media relations, public affairs, internal communication and strategic communication work on behalf of the university and reports and disseminates information about events, activities, research, policies, individuals and alumni of the University, both through the media, videos, ecu.edu, the university website and through owned publications and other forums.
UC, through Creative Services, works with all university departments to conceptualize, design, develop, and produce written, audio-visual, digital and print projects to brand,communicate, and market their messages to appropriate audiences. Creative Services also provides strategic marketing advice for the university, including performing advertising buys for the university.
Job Duties
This position will serve as the Enrollment Services Marketing and Communications Manager.
This position will work directly with other staff from Marketing and Communications as well as the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Graduate School, Honors College and other constituents. This position will work closely with the Associate Director and the Director of Marketing Strategy to provide support and feedback to assist with the ongoing development of overall recruitment communication plans. This position will also be responsible for the following:
Work with the marketing and admissions staff to create, update and schedule all types of admissions marketing materials including print, video and digital.
Generate concepts as well as copy and layout consistent with university standards; also, working with university Creative Services and other resources to manage production of projects. Produce digital, print and multimedia packages for student recruitment aimed at specific target audiences.
Work with outside vendors as needed to complete projects.
Concept, write and produce emails for student recruitment. Manage the production and deployment of single emails as well as email sequences in a CRM.
Manage the undergraduate Admissions web site. Develop web content and produce web pages, as well as coordinate work of multiple content providers.
Occasional video and photography.
Provide event support as needed.

Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
None
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Degree in marketing, communications or related field. 5 years marketing and communication experience, preferably in higher education. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Photoshop. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is preferred, including record keeping for reference and ongoing operations. Proficiency in Wordpress, or similar CMS. Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM. Experience developing email content and communication plans.
Specific experience in student recruitment marketing, including experience with developing and executing multichannel communication plans. Experience with email optimization for delivery and response is also desired. Video and photography experience a plus.

Ability to manage multiple complex projects involving several stakeholders. Experience working with project management software in a team setting desired.
