What to Expect
As a Project Engineer, you will work on interfacing with internal and external engineering to derisk any degree of issues during the engineering phase of large capex projects along with supporting construction execution. You will be responsible for identifying, categorizing, and providing a path forward for solutions for any degree of design and/or engineering issues. This role will also track quantity variations from changes in design and provide this information in a controlled manner to Project Controls and Project Management for control of schedule and cost metrics.

What You'll Do
  • Interface with internal and external engineering teams to proactively identify and mitigate risks during the engineering phase of large CAPEX projects, ensuring alignment with construction execution
  • Facilitate seamless handover between engineering and construction teams, addressing design changes to minimize disruptions during execution
  • Maintain documentation of design changes and quantity variations, ensuring accurate reporting to Project Controls and Project Management for informed decision-making
  • Collaborate directly with Project Controls and Project Management to ensure engineering decisions are integrated into overall project planning and performance metrics
  • Promote a safe and quality driven culture, both project and company wide
  • Provide written technical guidance as go-by information for both internal and external engineering companies for the discipline(s) you're competent in

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience (heavy industrial, oil & gas, complex chemical plants)
  • Previous experience on $250M+ projects
  • Ability to read and interpret Industrial construction drawings and technical specifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products and Bluebeam. AutoCAD experience is a plus
  • Document control management and engineering design packages
