Description

The Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) directs and oversees the organization's financial planning and analysis functions. This key leadership role is responsible for analyzing organizational budgets and performing periodic planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting. The VP of FP&A will develop key performance indicators to measure the financial health of the organization, ensuring alignment with long-term financial objectives. May also serve as Investor Relations leader.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Analysis and Reporting:



  • Analyze organizational budgets and financial performance against budgeted estimates, identifying trends and variances.
  • Develop and implement financial models that assist management in understanding the financial impact of business decisions.


Strategic Planning:



  • Formulate and develop strategies to assist the organization in meeting its long-term financial objectives.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Investor Relations
  • Build and maintain relationships with key outside investors to enhance company's visibility within the investment community.
  • Collaborate with other corporate staff members to ensure consistent messaging across investor, customer, internal employees and leadership, and board communications channels.


Performance Measurement:



  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) that effectively measure the financial health of the organization and its various units or functions.
  • Regularly review and report on the organization's financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.


Leadership and Team Development:



  • Coordinate and direct a decentralized team of finance professionals, providing mentorship and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
  • Provide training either directly or through other resources to both client business leaders and finance professionals that enhance understanding of business performance levers and how to use them to drive success.


Policy and Procedure Development



  • Establish departmental policies, practices, and procedures that significantly impact the organization's long-term success.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies with broader organizational objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • At least 12 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, including prior management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial concepts and principles, with a proven track record in strategic planning and analysis. Preferred: * Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
  • Experience in a leadership role, managing teams in a complex organizational environment.
  • Familiarity with advanced financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
