Job Description

The College of Engineering has an opening for a position that will provide publication services, library and reference services, training, and technical support for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT). MoDOT partners with The College of Engineering for this program, which provides reference services pertaining to the research needs of MoDOT. This position aids in the formatting, cataloging, publication, and dissemination of research project reports. Other limited research and library services may be provided to other public agencies and state DOTs; stakeholders such as legislative representatives; and the public. This position also manages a special collection at the Missouri State Library; promotes these resources and services to MoDOT employees; catalogs, maintains, and expands the collection; circulates materials; and liaises with information professionals on a national level.

The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and writing skills as well as the ability to work independently.

Shift

Monday- Friday 8:00 am - 5 pm
Regular onsite work is expected.

This full-time position is located in Jefferson City, Missouri. The position splits time between MoDOT's Research Section offices (1617 Missouri Blvd) and the Missouri State Library (600 W Main St).

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

A Master's degree in Library Science or similar field. Equivalent experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience or interest in working with transportation and/or engineering research.
* Experience in technical writing or editing.
* Proficiency in formatting print or online publications, especially for accessibility.
* Experience with web development (such as HTML or CSS) and/or working with web publishing software like LibGuides or SharePoint.
* Familiarity with the Transportation Research International Documentation (TRID) and Research in Progress (RiP) databases.
* Knowledge of integrated library systems, preferably FOLIO.
* Experience in cataloging or familiarity using Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH), LC classification, MARC formats, and OCLC Connexion.
* Ability to stand, bend, and reach shelves for book placement and retrieval.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $18.87 - $26.87 hourly, paid on a biweekly basis
