Job Overview

The Prevention, Education and Outreach Coordinator facilitates, coordinates, implements, develops and evaluates prevention and community based outreach programs at Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO). The Coordinator provides moderate to complex programming coordination, including coordinating with the relevant community partners. The Coordinator may be required to provide training to external and internal partners and assist with the development of programming designs.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

1. Identifies and interprets quantitative and qualitative data and information which may be used for assessing the health of a community.
2. Assesses community health status and factors influencing health in a community.
3. Implements CHCO population health strategies; develops options for policies, programs, and services; gathers information for evaluating policies, programs, and services.
4. Coordinates moderate to complex program specific outreach and events and maintains program branding materials including brochures and websites.
5. Selects approaches for disseminating public health data and information.
6. Describes the diversity of individuals and populations in a community; addresses the diversity of individuals and populations is addressed in policies, programs, and services that affect the health of a community.
7. Serves as liaison between program, department, CHCO and community partners. Establishes relationships to improve health in the community.
8. Supports development and implementation of population health programs and policies based on community benefit strategic plan, including activities designed to improve health, safety and family education or empowerment.
9. Assists with the development of prevention, education, and outreach programming; and delivers and provides training or outreach to internal and external partners.
10. Provides information for funding proposals; operates programs within budget.
11. Participates in local, state, regional and national efforts related to issues identified by the CHCO community needs assessment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degrees
    • High School Diploma.
  • Experience
    • Four years of experience coordinating and implementing prevention and education initiatives that help address social determinants of health.
    • Preferred experience: Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) national certification.
  • Equivalency
    • A degree may substitute for work experience on a year for year basis.

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $61,473.39 to $92,210.08
