Help ensure the systems and programs that power U.S. aviation operate with the highest levels of accountability, transparency, and resilience. Peraton is seeking a Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Lead to oversee enterprise governance and risk management efforts supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and major aviation modernization initiatives. This position is ideal for a leader who thrives in complex federal environments and understands how governance and risk management directly support mission success.

Work Location:

    This position is 100% on-site, primarily located in Herndon, VA, with an alternate work location available in Bowie, MD. Candidates must be able to work on-site at one of these locations based on program requirements.

Your Impact:

In this role, you will establish and guide strategies for managing regulatory compliance, operational risk, and internal governance processes across complex program environments. You will synchronizerisk, opportunity, and issue managementactivities across the Fusion Hub and multiple portfolio workstreams, ensuring leadership has the insight needed to make informed decisions and maintain program integrity.

Governance & Program Oversight

  • Establish and oversee governance frameworks that ensure program alignment with federal regulations, policies, and internal standards. Lead governance reviews, risk management boards, and compliance reporting across program portfolios. Define governance structures that enable effective coordination across multiple workstreams and program stakeholders.

Risk, Opportunity & Issue Management

  • Synchronize risk, opportunity, and issue management processes across Fusion Hub operations and portfolio workstreams. Maintain enterprise risk registers and ensure risks are identified, analyzed, and mitigated effectively. Lead risk assessments and impact analyses to inform leadership decisions and program planning. Coordinate risk mitigation strategies and track resolution activities across technical and operational teams.

Compliance & Regulatory Alignment

  • Ensure programs remain compliant with federal regulations, agency policies, and contractual requirements. Develop and maintain compliance documentation and audit-ready governance artifacts. Support internal and external audits, ensuring consistent adherence to regulatory standards.

Strategic Insight & Decision Support

  • Provide leadership with data-driven insights and risk intelligence that guide program strategy. Develop executive-level dashboards, reports, and briefings summarizing governance and risk posture.

Stakeholder Engagement & Program Coordination

  • Collaborate with program leadership, technical teams, and FAA stakeholders to align governance processes with operational objectives. Provide guidance to workstream leaders on risk management methodologies and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree and 12 years of experience or Master's degree and 10 years experience or Associate's degree and 14 years experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 16 years experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading governance, risk management, or compliance programs.
  • Experience managing risk registers, issue tracking, and mitigation strategies across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong understanding of governance frameworks and regulatory compliance practices.
  • Strong proficiency in preparing executive-level governance reports and dashboards.

  • Expertise in applying structured risk management methodologies.

  • Leadership in facilitating governance reviews, program management boards, and risk committees.

  • Strong experience coordinating cross-functional teams across large program environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting FAA programs or National Airspace System (NAS) environments.
  • Familiarity with NextGen or BNATCS modernization initiatives.
  • Familiarity with federal governance, program management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting large-scale federal programs or aviation modernization efforts.
  • Certifications such as Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP), PMI-RMP, PMP, or similar governance/risk credentials.
  • Experience supporting program portfolio management or enterprise governance initiatives.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
