THE OPPORTUNITY

Prince William County is Network Administrator/ VoIP Technician to assist with VoIP Phone replacements (device replacement), UPS replacements (configuring basic network settings in the devices), battery replacements in existing UPS systems, replacing Access Points with newer models, helping to rack and stack equipment/switches, etc.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT



  • Supporting the Voice Engineering Team's daily operations by monitoring the service request queue, prioritizing tickets, and dispatching when appropriate
  • Provide on-site support for Cisco Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone deployments
  • Collaborate with senior technicians to escalate and resolve complex issues
  • replace Access Points, VoIP phone replace/swap, and UPS Systems.
  • Follows process for change reporting, as directed.


SKILLS THAT DRIVE SUCCESS



  • You have knowledge of structured cabling, e.g. CAT6, T568B terminations, patch panels
  • You are an excellent communicator and customer service skills
  • You understand Internet Protocol (IP) addressing and subnetting
  • You can work independently and as part of a team
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel
  • You have basic understanding of VoIP terminology, IP addresses, and Cat6 patch cabling (both at the jack and data closet patch panels)
  • You have experience physically racking and stacking equipment/switches
  • You are able to read floorplans, climb a 6ft ladder, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds (lbs.)
  • You can pass a Prince William County background check to include commercial and criminal checks
