GCC Technologies is looking for Intermediate FOIA specialist to support a large FOIA contract supporting the Department of Veteran Affairs. This is for a pending proposal and position availability is contingent upon contract award. The contract has both onsite and remote flexibility and will be supporting the Washington DC office.


An Intermediate FOIA Contractor performs mid-level FOIA processing with minimal supervision. This role reviews and interprets FOIA requests conducts or validates searches, applies exemptions, prepares releasable records, and ensures responses meet statutory and VA requirements. The Intermediate FOIA specialist provides technical accuracy, consistency, and support to junior staff while contributing to efficient workflow management and quality FOIA production.


Qualifications:


Education:



  • Associates Degree required
  • 2 years of FOIA processing experience within last 36 months
  • Additional FOIA experience may substitute for formal FOIA training or certifications.


Duties:



  • Meets or exceeds all Junior FOIA Contractor KSAs.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of FOIA request processing within the last 36 months.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FOIA exemptions, request types, timelines, and fee categories.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret FOIA requests and determine tasking and search requirements.
  • Skilled in conducting or validating searches for responsive records.
  • Proficient in applying redaction software accurately and documenting exemption decisions.
  • Strong written communication skills for drafting responses and summaries.



English Language Requirement: The Contractor shall ensure all personnel performing under this


contract are able to read, write, and speak English fluently. All personnel must have the ability to


effectively communicate orally via telephone and MS Teams communications as well as via email


communications.
