Job Overview The Senior Accountant - Corporate Accounting plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of the company's financial reporting and internal control environment. This position oversees controls compliance activities, serves as the primary liaison between Internal Audit and business units, and supports key month-end close processes. In addition, this role will serve as a subject matter resource for the company's ongoing migration to SAP S/4HANA, helping to ensure accounting requirements, internal controls, and reporting needs are properly designed and implemented within the new system environment. This position requires a strong technical accounting foundation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a dynamic environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply internal controls expertise while gaining meaningful exposure to both Corporate Accounting and business unit operations. Key Job Responsibilities Controls & Compliance Oversight * Oversee and monitor compliance with internal control policies and J-SOX requirements. * Coordinate control documentation updates, testing support, and remediation efforts. * Partner with process owners to ensure timely and effective resolution of control deficiencies. * Support ongoing enhancement of the internal control framework in alignment with evolving business processes. Internal Audit & Business Liaison * Serve as the primary point of contact between Corporate Accounting, Internal Audit, and business units. * Facilitate timely controls remediation, as needed. * Proactively identify and address potential risk areas before audit review cycles. Month-End Close & Technical Accounting Support * Support ad hoc and recurring month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and fluctuation analysis. * Assist in reviewing financial results to ensure accuracy and completeness. * Support special projects and accounting research as needed. SAP S/4HANA Migration Support * Serve as a Corporate Accounting subject matter expert (SME) in the company's SAP S/4HANA migration. * Participate in testing (UAT), process validation, and control integration within the new system. * Help drive process standardization and automation opportunities enabled by SAP S/4HANA. Qualifications/Requirements Required: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. * CPA or CPA candidate. * 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or corporate accounting). * Strong understanding of internal controls and audit processes. * Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. * Preferred: * Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and manage multiple priorities. * Experience with ERP implementations or large-scale system migrations. * Prior experience with SAP (S/4HANA experience highly preferred). * Experience working with Internal Audit in a controls compliance role. Additional Information Hiring Range At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $95,700 to $110,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
