Grain Millers, Inc. is a leading provider of whole grain ingredients used in cereals, breads, bars, snacks and many other food products throughout North America. Proudly we have had no layoffs in our 35+ year history. Currently we are looking for an Inventory Specialist to work Monday thru Friday. Position Summary

This role serves as a critical bridge between system functionality, automation processes, daily operations and reporting needs. The inventory specialist is responsible for maintaining plant inventory records and various reports relative to inventory cost systems. This position works closely with Operations Managers to provide insights into production and procurement activities, and collaborates with the Plant Controller to ensure a timely and accurate month-end close.

Essential Functions



  • Verify pre and post production bills of material
  • Perform regular cycle counts on a rotating basis at multiple warehouses
  • Identify, investigate and correct inventory discrepancies
  • Follow all safety, GMP, food safety procedures and company policies
  • Utilize daily production reports to update accounting records
  • Ensure accurate reporting of incoming raw and component material
  • Close inventory PO's upon completion in Galileo
  • Maintain inventory transaction record retention
  • set up and maintain inventory ID's in accordance with company policy
  • Audit inventory ID setup for consistency and accuracy

Essential Qualification

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in warehouse inventory management required
  • Work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to function effectively as a member of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient use of Windows, Microsoft Office and other accounting systems
  • Ability to be versatile and work independently
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Must present a professional, business-like appearance and manner


Physical Demands



  • Walk and stand for extended periods
  • Climb stairs and ladders
  • Sit for periods of time
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds


Work Conditions



  • The work week schedule is Monday - Friday 8 hour shifts
  • This position requires spending a significant amount of time in multiple plants
  • Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and interacting with employees at all levels
  • Work environment consists of working in dust
  • Will be exposed to a variety of different temperatures both inside and outside of the plan
