Your Opportunity:

Taylor Visual Impressions, a division of Taylor Corporation, is seeking an Estimator to join their team in Las Vegas, NV. In this role, you will be responsible for the quick and efficient processing of quotes for multiple product lines and maintaining a balance between company profitability and the ability to secure the order.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Receive and respond to quote request from the sales group and the Customer Service department for various job categories
  • Review and prepare response to RFP's and direct opportunities by gathering details and compiling data for all production cost according to specifications
  • Understand the "cost" pricing structure; factors such as material cost, spoilage and make ready
  • Provide continual evaluation of processes and procedures
  • Set the standard for developing appropriate and effective working relationships with Sales Management, BDMs, Sales Representatives and vendors
  • Work with CSR's, AM's and Sales Reps to understand customer requirements
  • Research source materials for most efficient production process and costing
  • Helps determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints
  • Estimate job costs and apply the appropriate markup based on product category
  • Maintain estimating system; close quotes, de-activate old quotes, add/change supplier codes and contact names
  • Work with suppliers to gain knowledge of their production capabilities and learn about new products
  • Analyze vendor pricing and negotiate vendor costs
  • Quote alternative items as needed to meet requirements and secure the order
  • Plan work the most cost-efficient way through the plant and outside vendors
  • Proactively follow-up and communicate quote status to requestor
  • Strive to improve processes and cost efficiencies.

Your Shift: Monday - Friday from 8 am - 5 pm

You Must Have:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with 2+ years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced negotiation skills and knowledge of press capabilities and printing procedures
  • Advanced understanding of the print process along with basic paper knowledge (such as paper grades)
  • Knowledge and the ability to use computerized estimating systems including Monarch and Production Planning Software
  • Understanding of page layouts, press laybacks, etc.
  • Ability to effectively respond to questions from management, customers, sales representatives, and employees
  • Strong math skills - ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratios, percent and draw and interpret graphs
  • Manage all communication professionally and efficiently; ability to communicate both written and verbally
  • Ability to work well under pressure; work with diverse personalities and deal effectively with conflict
  • Strong work ethic, dependable, accountable, and displays a sense of urgency
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook system to include calendar, e-mail, task list, etc.; excellent computer (Microsoft Office Suite) and data entry skills
  • Proficient in Excel with the ability to create spreadsheets with simple formulas
  • Excellent problem solving (think outside the box), follow-up, decision making, and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail with minimal errors
