Position Title: Product Owner

Position Summary:

The Product Owner is accountable for execution of the strategy for product, for defining and maintaining the 1-year product roadmap, the release plan, backlog, and priorities within the POD. Serve as the bridge between vision and technical execution.

This role serves as the single point of accountability for the product-owning the roadmap and backlog-while leveraging the expertise of stakeholders across Product Management, Member Experience (MX), and User Experience (UX,) Technology, Operations, and Sales, to align solutions with member needs, market demands, and achieve business objectives.

As a critical link between business and technical teams, the Product Owner ensures that agile teams are empowered to deliver high-impact features by articulating clear priorities, defining value, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Deliverables:

Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation through delivery, optimization, and retirement, ensuring alignment with member needs, business strategy, and regulatory and compliance requirements.

Collaborate with Product Managers, Member Experience (MX), User Experience (UX), Sales, Operations, Risk and Compliance, and other teams to understand market trends, competitive pressures, member feedback, and regulatory requirements, translating these insights into a prioritized product backlog.

Define and communicate 1-year and quarterly product roadmap, goals, and success metrics, ensuring agile teams are focused on delivering features that drive member engagement, satisfaction, and business outcomes.

Author user stories, features, and acceptance criteria following Agile methodology best practices that reflect member value and technical feasibility and cover both functional and non-functional requirements.

Build process maps and workflows and partner with MX to define member/user journeys to depict the expected experience and interactions between users, systems, and processes, identify improvement opportunities for seamless users experience and operational efficiencies.

Support testing new and enhanced product features and accept deliverables when aligned with the definition of done.

Champion a test-learn-adapt approach by incorporating member feedback, data analytics, and market insights into continuous iterative product refinement.

Track and communicate product KPIs and OKRs, using data to inform prioritization, decision-making, and ongoing improvements.

Collaborate with IT architecture, compliance, and security teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry standards.

Actively engage in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, demos, and team retrospectives, ensuring a steady flow of prioritized, well-defined work.

Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation; maintain an ongoing dialogue with stakeholders across the organization, ensuring transparency, alignment, and shared accountability for member and product success.

Stay informed on financial services industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact the product roadmap or value proposition.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, IT Management, or Business, or related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Certifications:

Product Owner Agile professional certification required.

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager preferred.

Experience:

  • 3+ years in product management, business analysis, or IT delivery roles, with a proven track record of delivering successful products in financial services or a similar industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences regarding product vision, goals, requirements, and changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver assigned responsibilities against deadlines.
  • Ability to build product roadmaps aligned with business goals, with support.
  • Data-driven and able to identify patterns and tie activities to operational key results and departmental key performance indicators.
  • Aptitude for communicating ideas persuasively and concisely both up and across the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of JIRA and Agile methodologies such as SAFEs, Scrum and Kanban.
  • Highly collaborative and effective in cross-functional environments.
  • Demonstrates a passion for frictionless user experiences, financial products and services, and digital banking.
