Responsibilities

The Group Security Manager oversees all security operations for Hartgrove Behavioral Health System and Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital, maintaining full responsibility and accountability for the safety and security of both facilities. This role ensures 24/7 operational oversight, provides direct supervisory leadership, and upholds a consistently safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The Group Security Manager develops, implements, and enforces security protocols; ensures adherence to all safety procedures; and promotes a culture of vigilance, professionalism, and risk mitigation throughout the organization.

Key responsibilities include coordinating daily security activities, monitoring and completing all required documentation, and responding promptly to security concerns or incidents. The Group Security Manager ensures that parking policies are enforced, oversees the screening of patients and their belongings for contraband, and maintains strict control of entry procedures. They supervise the execution of facility and parking lot rounds, support Emergency Services (ES) operations, ensure timely response to codes, and oversee visitor management and switchboard coverage. This role also ensures that officers maintain a consistent presence in the lobby, conduct q15 observations, and uphold all expectations related to professionalism, conduct, and situational awareness.

The Group Security Manager leads all hiring, training, and development of security personnel, ensuring staff are well-prepared, well-trained, and aligned with departmental standards. They manage scheduling and payroll for both sites, guaranteeing uninterrupted 24/7 coverage and appropriate staffing levels. This role is responsible for developing and refining departmental protocols, monitoring compliance, and ensuring that officers and leads execute their duties effectively and consistently. Strong leadership, organization, communication, and attention to detail are essential to maintaining high security standards and fostering a professional, accountable, and safety-focused security team.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • HS Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field preferred.
  • Five (5) years progressively responsible managerial experience in healthcare security, security, or law enforcement. Or a combination of education and experience.
  • CPI and BLS training provided upon hire.
