Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, business or related field required or equivalent experience.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in an accounting or finance related position.
  • At least one (1) year experience of Tableau or similar software preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Excel software, including Vlookups and pivot tables.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with the ability to apply to business transactions.
  • Analytical ability.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize appropriately and meet deadlines.
  • Sense of urgency with the ability to respond quickly to internal and external customer requests.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

Responsibilities

Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst - Opex/G&A supports the finance department performing budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis of both operational expenditures, as well as all SG&A expenses. Leverage data and analysis to drive financial efficiency and support business objectives. Collaborating with department leads to optimize understanding and spend patterns while ensuring financial sustainability.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Financial Analyst leads the budget and guidance process for establishing and maintaining the Operational Expenditures, OPEX, and the Sales, General, and Administrative, SG&A, expense sections of the income statement.
  • Collaborates with department managers to gather the required information to update all OPEX & SG&A related accounts in both the budget and guidance on an annual and quarterly basis, ensuring that they are in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Establishes standardized reporting package to highlight and explain monthly and quarterly variances with detailed commentary at the account level for all OPEX and SG&A related accounts.
  • The Senior Financial Analyst conducts in-depth financial analysis and modeling of both OPEX and SG&A related accounts to support business initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Prepares monthly reporting package that analyzes expenditure trends, variances, and drivers with detailed commentary to provide insight into spend patterns on a month over month and quarter over quarter basis.
  • Provides insight and recommendations based on financial data to drive informed decision-making.
  • The Senior Financial Analyst meets monthly with department managers to walk through their departmental spending, gathering feedback and understanding into their execution against budget and guidance, while providing insight to their departmental trends and root causes of variances.
  • Acts as a financial advisor to the departmental managers offering guidance on financial matters and best practices.
  • Supports cross-functional teams in identifying cost-savings opportunities and efficiency improvements.
  • The Senior Financial Analyst identifies opportunities for automation and enhancements for OPEX and SG&A management and reporting that streamline the process and capabilities.
  • Assists in audit and compliance reviews related to either OPEX or SG&A.
  • Fosters a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Performs other ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
