The Position Job TitleMarketing Compliance and Process Manager Job Description

Summary

TheMarketing Compliance andProcessManager isdirectly responsibleforfirst-line compliance review, approvaland fulfillment of marketing andadvertising materials for projects and campaignsestablishedby the Marketing Department and other marketing supported community bank business units. The project management duties are devoted to project tracking, execution, approval and fulfillment, budget tracking and management, and regulatory communications.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serves as the first line of defense for marketing related compliance risk.
  • Reviews and approves high-volume marketing materialssubmittedby project owners using compliance-prepared regulatory checklists, ensuring speed, efficiency, and one-pass approval standards whenever possible.
  • Embeds front-end compliance checkpoints within marketing project flows (scope,audience,offer,messaging) tovalidateproduct approvals, disclosures, and offer requirements prior to creative development, reducing downstream rework and compliance risk.
  • Reviews and approves the supporting documentationsubmittedby the project owner including, but not limited to, Campaign and Offer Requirements, and Retail and Customer Care Playbooks
  • Identifiesopportunitiesand implements workflowautomation withinproject management and compliance review systems (Kadince) including bulk processing efficiencies and approval routing enhancements tomaintaina streamlined review process.
  • Conducts FairBankingfirst-line compliance oversight for marketing activities, including the review, tracking, and monitoring of marketing content, delivery channels, targeting strategies, geographic distribution, and third-party marketing vendors. Analyzes campaign reach, audienceselection, and targeting methodologies across geographic and demographic indicators toidentify, mitigate, and escalate potential Fair Banking risks.
  • Ensures advertised product(s), and service(s) have beenappropriatelyrisk-rated, and have been through proper and adequate due diligence, as needed
  • Effectively communicates with project owners, bankers, and marketing partnersregardingadvertising submissions,providingclear guidance toensurematerials align with internal policies,proceduresand regulatory requirements.
  • Translates complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionableguidanceso business teams understand howrequirementsapply to marketing campaigns, messaging, and product promotion.
  • Educates stakeholders on compliant campaign structuring and collaborates with cross-functional teams to address compliance considerations whilemaintainingmarketing effectiveness and brand consistency.
  • Partners with Corporate Compliance in researching marketing-related regulatory issues and provides business-focused perspectives to support balanced, risk-based decision-making.
  • Develops, documents, and enhances marketing compliance processes, workflow maps, policies, procedures, and checklists to improve governance, efficiency, and audit readiness.
  • As applicable to marketing, advertising and customer facing communications,gains in-depth knowledge ofapplicablefederal and state retail banking and mortgage lending regulationsandIRSrulings as they pertain to consumerdepositandnon-deposit accountproducts. Some of these include:
  • FDIC - Advertisement of Membership (12 CFR 328);
  • CFPB - Truth in Savings (12 CFR 1030) Reg DD;
  • CFPB - Truth in Lending (12 CFR 1026) Reg Z;
  • FDIC - Consumer Protection in Sales of Insurance;
  • FDIC - Non-deposit Investment Products;
  • FTC - UDAAP;
  • HUD - Fair Housing Act;
  • FTC - FRCA: Affiliate Marketing and Prescreened solicitations;
  • FTC - CAN-SPAM; and
  • IRS - 1099 Interest and bonus reporting
  • Copyright and trademark needs
  • Be the SME, lead writer, and project manager for all regulatory correspondence sent to customers
  • Ensure that FUB brand and brand voice are well-represented and that correspondence aligns with customer's need to understand the impact of the change, what action s/he needs to take, and where to go for answers to questions
  • Demonstrates forward-thinking adoption of emerging technologies and process improvements that enhance marketing governance, compliance oversight, and operational efficiency.
  • Proactively manages marketing-related internalaudits, compliancetestsandexampreparation;maintainsorganized documentation repositories to ensuretimelyretrieval of approvals, substantiation files, and regulatory correspondence.
  • Applies customer journey and multi-channel marketing knowledge to evaluate how disclosures, messaging, and offers function collectively across digital, email, direct mail, social, search, and fulfillment channels.
  • Demonstrates understanding of search query logic, keywords, trigger terms, and digital advertising structures to ensure compliant messaging across paid and organic search platforms.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

  • Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis
  • Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures
  • Dresses professionally
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

First180Days

  • ManageAuditDepartment'sinternalreviewof marketing processes.
  • Work with Corporate Compliance to migrate project approvalsfrom Kadinceto the Asana platform.
  • Manage impacts on Corporate Compliance processes, as they will be providing approvals on two separate platforms for two separate marketing departments (Bank and Mortgage).

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Finance or Communications
  • Two (2) to five (5) years in related field preferred
