Position Summary/ Department Summary:
Under immediate supervision, performs a variety of routine and specialized laboratory experiments, specimen preparations and experimental procedures for the purpose of research. Assists in the use of specialized laboratory equipment and analysis of data generated by this equipment. Specifically, the research assistant will be expected to manage the laboratory's wild-type and transgenic mouse colonies, will set up matings and will work with mice on a routine basis. He/she/they will also carry out various laboratory procedures following established protocols, including genotyping, RT-PCR, ELISA assays, flow cytometry, primary cell cultures, and immunohistochemistry. He/she/they will be expected to carefully track and record experimental results, analyze data using basic statistics, and present results. Key Responsibilities:
Experience with the following experimental techniques is desirable but not required: -PCR -Cell culture -Flow cytometry -ELISA assays -Immunohistochemistry -Western Blots Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelors Degree is required. In the STEM area of study. The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
