This position requires you to be working in office, 3 days per week, from our Bala Cynwyd, PA office. Position Summary The Vice President, Tax is responsible for the strategic leadership and execution of the company's global tax function, encompassing tax planning, tax accounting, reporting, compliance, and risk management across direct and indirect taxes. This role serves as a key business partner to executive leadership and works cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Treasury, HR, Operations, and the parent company to ensure tax alignment, compliance, and value creation. The VP, Tax leads and develops a team of tax professionals and manages a blended operating model of internal and external resources. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's global tax strategy across federal, state, local, and international direct and indirect taxes.
- Oversee tax accounting and reporting, including quarterly and annual income tax provisions and disclosures in accordance with ASC 740.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant tax filings, registrations, payments, and reporting obligations across all jurisdictions.
- Lead tax planning initiatives to support business objectives, transactions, and organizational growth while managing tax risk.
- Manage tax audits, inquiries, and examinations, serving as the primary liaison with taxing authorities.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on the tax implications of business decisions, transactions, and structural changes.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing tax organization; establish clear goals, performance metrics, and development plans.
- Oversee external advisors, co-sourced providers, and auditors; establish and monitor SLAs, KPIs, and cost-effective service delivery.
Other duties as assigned Education and Experience
- 10-15 years of experience coupled with a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree. (Masters Degree in Taxation and active CPA license are preferred)
- Proven executive-level leadership and people management capabilities.
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate complex tax issues into clear, actionable guidance.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong project management, organizational, and process-improvement capabilities.
- High degree of integrity, discretion, and accountability.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Deep knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local income tax, indirect taxes, and international tax concepts.
- Strong understanding of tax accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Familiarity with consolidated reporting, intercompany transactions, and parent-company reporting requirements.
- Working knowledge of tax technology, data management, and process automation.
