Purpose of the Job

The Salesforce Architect is responsible for supporting the Director, Salesforce, with the strategic design, development, and ongoing optimization of Truliant Federal Credit Union's Salesforce platform, internally named Horizon. This role provides architectural leadership to ensure Salesforce solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements. The Salesforce Architect partners with business leaders and technical teams to define the Salesforce roadmap, evaluate emerging technologies, lead problem-solving sessions, and deliver innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency, member service, and long-term organizational success.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Designs scalable, efficient, and secure Salesforce solutions that align with business requirements and industry standards, ensuring high quality and usability.
  • Provides technical guidance and mentorship to Salesforce developers, administrators, and other team members.
  • Leads the evaluation and selection of Salesforce tools, apps, and integrations, including custom development and third-party solutions.
  • Maintains a curious and proactive learning mindset; continuously researches, experiments, and integrates new Salesforce features and third-party apps.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership and business stakeholders to understand their needs, define the Salesforce roadmap, priorities, and long-term technical vision.
  • Regularly assess the current Salesforce environment, identify areas for improvement, and recommend strategic enhancements.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive Salesforce architecture strategy that supports current and future business needs.
  • Conducts architecture reviews and code/solution audits to ensure consistency, performance, and compliance.
  • Establishes governance standards, data architecture, security protocols, and best practices for Salesforce development and configuration.
  • Stays informed about Salesforce releases, updates, and industry trends to ensure our platform remains current and competitive.
  • Supports user adoption and provides guidance or training as needed to maximize the value of Salesforce tools.
  • Leads efforts to optimize Salesforce performance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Oversees the integration of Salesforce with other enterprise systems, ensuring data integrity and seamless workflows.
  • Assists with complex project planning, resource allocation, and risk management related to Salesforce initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have the ability to understand all business processes within the Credit Union.
  • Must have an understanding of financial services regulations and their impact on technology implementations.
  • Must have the ability to stay well-organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to shifting priorities
  • Must have a deep understanding of Salesforce architecture, declarative tools, Apex/Lightning development, enterprise integration middleware, APIs, and data management.
  • Must have familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and tools, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Must have proven experience designing scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Must demonstrate a strong passion for learning new technologies, exploring apps, and staying current with Salesforce ecosystem developments.
  • Must have strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to reassess and reimagine existing solutions.
  • Must demonstrate expertise in Salesforce security, compliance, and data governance, especially within financial services or regulated industries.
  • Must have strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and guiding technical teams.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Labs, AppExchange, Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence), and UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD) offerings is a plus.
  • Must have strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Must have the ability to make decisions and work independently.
  • Must be able to work in a general office environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and stooping required.
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer.
  • Must be able to moderately lift or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds.

Education and Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive solution architecture experience designing, developing, and leading Salesforce solutions in an enterprise environment required.
  • Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Certified Technical Architect, Application Architect, System Architect, Platform Developer, or equivalent certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting Salesforce implementations within financial services, credit unions, banking, or other highly regulated industries preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise technology solutions.
