The team's charter isto partner with a broad group of stakeholders tobuild outthe end-to endMicrosoft Cloud Infrastructure, whileoptimizinginvestments and enabling accounting solutions that are scalable and mitigate risk.As akeymember ofthe team, you'll be responsible for designing andexecutingthe accountingprocessesandcontrolsforMicrosoft'sDatacenter Accounting.The role willmanagethe accountingofDatacenterBuild&EnergyInvestmentsCapex, power-related operating costs, andall costs associatedwith running Microsoft datacenter operations,whileinfluencing the design of systems & processes,providingkey insight to business partners, andexecutingmonthly financial close processes.The role will collaborate with Microsoft partners globally, includingFinance,Tax,Treasury, Trade,Sourcingand Business Operations to optimizesystems,processesandaccountingfortheCloudInfrastructure.



Responsibilities
  • Manage accounting for power and datacenter operations costs, including Datacenter Build & Energy Capex asset management to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Design and execute scalable accounting & reporting solutions to enable stakeholders with optimal and compliant systems and processes, and key analysis and insights.
  • Partner with finance to drive insight and clarity on accounting guidance to help inform business decisions and financial planning (forecast, targets, long range planning).
  • Participate with a high performing team to add to thought leadership for Cloud Controllership and Enablement.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, SOX and MS Policy; enable controls to safeguard assets and accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to meet regulatory, statutory, audit and compliance requirements.
  • Build and manage close partnerships with teams across Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Business.
  • Embrace inclusion, a growth mindset, and enable culture and norms that support consistent quality partner experiences.


Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Previous accounting experience in operational accounting, Cloud, supply chain, fixed assets and/or multi-national companies preferred
  • Analytical, collaboration, and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with all levels of management
  • Understanding of GAAP, Internal Controls, and SOX
  • Demonstrated systems and process improvement experience
  • Must be extremely collaborative and comfortable dealing with ambiguity, influencing across multiple complex organizations, creating effective internal business partnerships
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, have excellent attention to detail, and work effectively under deadlines

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
