Senior Network Engineer needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client to work onsite in Sunnyvale, CA.



Contract Length: 6-12 months with possible extension



Job Description:

  • Monitor network infrastructure and Provide L2/L3 Network support
  • Leading a team in particular shift, handling P1/P2 escalations, coordination with other teams, follow up on incidents and changes
  • Handle incident/tasks related to network infrastructure by following process and standard workflow
  • Communicate to the end user and business as per incident requirements
  • Manage Juniper routing, switching, Wireless and WAN technologies, leverage tools and automation.
  • Manage Juniper firewalls, Site to Site VPNs, SSL VPNs
  • Administer Radius components that interface with network devices
  • Ability to analyze infrastructure usage and plan for growth across network elements (physical and virtual)
  • Upgrading existing elements to new patch levels
  • Troubleshooting complex interactions across multiple networks
  • Write technical document including incident RCA
  • Learn new routing, switching, wireless, and WAN technologies
  • Improving processes, procedures, and scalability through network automation
  • Job role involves shift rotation.


Essential Requirement


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an appropriate field
  • 5+ years of work experience working with Juniper/Arista/Cisco/ Aruba/Extreme Networks equipment
  • 2+ years of experience with network capacity planning, network security principles and general network management best practices, experience working with telco's in different countries
  • Good understanding and hands-on experience of networking protocols (eg., BGP, OSPF, ISIS, STP, QoS, COS, NetFlow, OpenFlow, MPLS, SIP, VRRP, HSRP)
  • Experience in working with multiple teams for providing networking connectivity services to various systems in the datacenter, lab, office buildings and cloud.
  • Experience in debugging and fixing, connectivity issues and networking devices, by coordinating with vendors, datacenter and onsite support teams.
  • Good understanding on datacenter technologies (eg., VXLAN/EVPN/MC-Lag)
  • Knowledge of SDWAN, WAN Optimization, Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Experience with wireless technologies (MIST, or others)
  • Good knowledge of Network Monitoring tools.
  • Have experience in creating network documents and flow diagrams
  • Knowledge of Windows, Linux
  • Knowledge of ITIL process
  • Experience in any of the following: IPv6, Next generation firewalls, NAC, VMWare, cloud computing


Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent communication in English, both verbal and written
  • High general IT knowledge
  • Experience with Ansible, Python, and Ruby scripting would be a benefit
