About the Role We are seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our team at our Cayce, SC bakery. As a Maintenance Technician III, you will be accountable for performing advanced preventive and corrective maintenance on bakery equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations that support continuous production. Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 2nd
- Hours: 2PM - 10:30PM
- Weekend availability: Required
Core Accountabilities (What You'll be Doing)
- Perform preventive, scheduled, and corrective repairs on production and facility equipment to minimize downtime and support production schedules
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and PLC-related issues, and support or execute major equipment overhauls
- Maintain and operate tools and equipment (e.g., saws, drills, power tools, scissor lifts, forklifts) safely and in accordance with company procedures
- Document maintenance activities and findings in the Maintenance Management System and communicate via computer and email as required
- Collaborate with production and other departments to coordinate maintenance work and minimize disruption to operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with GMPs, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Escort contractors and support onsite work to ensure adherence to plant safety and security procedures
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- High school diploma
- Minimum of 3 years' mechanical and/or electrical experience in industrial/manufacturing machinery
- OR 5 years' mechanical and/or electrical experience in industrial/manufacturing machinery
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control system documentation (e.g., P&IDs, single-line drawings, loop drawings, mechanical diagrams, layout drawings)
- Experience in at least two of the following: refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or food manufacturing process controls
- Knowledge of equipment setup, functionality, operating procedures, and preventive maintenance techniques
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, and plan activities effectively
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- Advanced experience in one or more of the following: electrical, refrigeration, welding, boiler/air compressor systems, machinist work
- Experience in food or beverage manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or similar maintenance management tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to support root-cause analysis and reliability improvements
