Our Values Respect | Belonging | Accountability | Transparency Department Denver Sheriff Urban Institute Job SummaryThe Behavioral Health Psychiatrist for Correctional Care, under general supervision, diagnoses and treats adult patients with complex co-occurring medical, behavioral health and substance mis-use disorders as well as homelessness, poverty; and treatment-resistance. The Psychiatrist provides evidence-based cost-effective clinical services including assessment, behavioral interventions, consultation, emergency medications, M-1 holds and other involuntary treatments such as seclusion/restraints, somatic treatments, triage and other clinical services. The Psychiatrist directs care teams in identifying appropriate levels of care for complex patient presentations using experience and judgment to accomplish goals, routinely collaborating with operational colleagues to maintain quality, safety, and financial viability.
