Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Intern.
If you are passionate about healthcare and want to deliver impactful technological solutions while developing your leadership and Business Services experience, this internship is for you. As a Business Service intern you will learn the day to day work of contract analyst and Financial analyst. If procurement and finance is your calling our internship will give a preview of some of the task and work we perform for the MCIT team.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Vendor Contract Review and Management
- The intern will assist in maintaining and improving the accuracy and completeness of vendor data across systems and reports.
- Responsibilities include:
- Update and validate vendor records for approximately 200 vendors.
- Compile and support the development of a centralized vendor database capturing key details, including vendor name, contact information, services provided, affiliates, and VAR status.
- Verify IT security requirements for Vendors using IT security audit reports.
- Update missing or incomplete vendor names within the vendor database.
- Confirm BAA/PHI applicability for approximately 200 vendors.
- Continue updating remaining vendor records as part of ongoing vendor management initiatives.
2. Contract Lifecycle Management (PeopleSoft CLM)
- The intern will support continuous improvement efforts related to contract lifecycle management tools.
Responsibilities include:
- Review PeopleSoft CLM functionality and identify potential enhancement opportunities.
- Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for CLM system enhancements and updates.
- Document observations, issues, and recommendations for process and system improvements.
3. Automation, AI & Innovation Support
The intern will gain exposure to innovation initiatives within the Procurement Business Services & Finance team.
Responsibilities include:
- Support core projects related to automation, bots, and AI use cases.
- Assist with documenting use case scenarios for bot and AI applications.
4. Finance
- Work with the IT Finance team to review all PO related to Capital projects & Operating expenditure to ensure all invoices have been paid and no invoice is missing prior to closing the PO.
- Assist in the preparation of Year end accruals
- Assist in the Financial closure of capital projects
- Prepare financial summary for the capital projects to ensure they ready for audit
- Assist with Accounts Payable inquiries and ensure invoices are processed and received in timely manner.
- Review purchase order summary report - follow up on missing invoices and close POs as needed.
- Reviews and ensures purchase requisitions are properly accounted for within the approved operating and capital budgets.
- Review Invoice Dispute Reporting to ensure a resolution is completed and assist if needed
- Assist Prepaid process
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Student currently enrolled in a college/university
A strong interest in Project Management as a career is preferred
Have an academic level of written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills to actively listen, communicate in ways that foster trust and show flexibility
Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed environment under deadline pressures
Ability to manage own workload independently, multi-task, and prioritize effectively
Demonstrate leadership, diplomacy, and motivational skills
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $20.00-20.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
