New employees can earn $54K in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50-hour work week. This includes the base rate, overtime, retention and production bonuses.

There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives.

Machine Operator, 1st Shift

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM plus over time, including some Saturdays.

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating machinery in a manufacturing environment to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.

• Operate machinery according to standard operating procedures.

• Monitor production output and quality to meet specifications.

• Assist with finished products by using banders to bundle finished products.

• Assist with break press operations.

• Operate overhead cranes and/or forklifts for efficient material handling.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Adhere to safety protocols.

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required.

$19 / hour + weekly production bonuses and overtime as needed

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. The range may vary by location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Operate overhead cranes and perform daily operator inspections.
• Operate forklift.
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products
• Maintain work area and equipment in clean orderly condition.
• Work safely and follow company safety policies.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including, but not limited to, cleaning, scrap removal and other tasks.
• Standing for most of shift
• Frequent walking, using hands and fingers to handle objects, tools and controls.
• Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching
• Frequent use of close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and able to adjust focus.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Frequent communication with others to exchange information.

• Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

• Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

• Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

• Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.
