Software Engineer - Data

This is a 6-month, full-time (40 hours/week), hybrid contract role located in Culver City, CA.

Summary

This role focuses on designing and developing scalable data systems and tools that support marketing efficiency and automation. You will build data pipelines, APIs, and frameworks that improve data accessibility and streamline business processes, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Our Ideal Candidate

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on data systems
  
• Passion for data engineering and automation with a strong foundation in scalable system design
  
• Proficient in Python, with strong experience in PySpark and building batch data pipelines
  
• Familiar with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, including infrastructure management
  
• Skilled in developing APIs and services using Python, Go, or Java
  
• Experience with data lakes, near real-time data processing, and data service architecture
  
• Understanding of UI application development is a plus
  
• Deep knowledge of database systems and data modeling
  
• Skilled in collaborating with engineering, product, and analytics teams
  
• Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and timelines
  
• Strong written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to detail
  

Job Description

In this role, you will design and develop data pipelines, APIs, and tools that power data products and enable business automation. You'll partner with engineering leaders and cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions and drive end-to-end execution.

You will also support ongoing system performance, act as a point of contact for engineering support during business hours, and continuously improve data infrastructure and workflows to enhance efficiency and stakeholder trust.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  
• Background in data engineering, software development, or distributed systems
  
• Experience building scalable data platforms and cloud-based applications
  
• Additional Requirements
  
• This opportunity is located in Culver City, CA and requires hybrid onsite work
  
• The pay for this W-2 position is $90.00 per hour
