Summary
Responsible for providing excellent customer service in a healthcare facility. Verifying accurate demographic and insurance information, verifying eligibility, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions -Greet patients and provide a warm and welcoming environment during the check-in process. -Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits by following established procedures and guidelines. -Provide exceptional customer service to patients, family members, and visitors. -Respond promptly and courteously to inquiries, provide accurate information, and address concerns or complaints in a professional manner. -Schedule patients for various therapy appointments. Answering phone and responding inquiries from patients and staff. Perform the check-in process including collecting co-payments, verifying insurance and scheduling additional appointments. One to two evening shifts per week until 8pm required Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience Experience in patient registration, customer service, or a related healthcare administrative role. 1-2 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is beneficial. - Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and registration software. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation. - Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. - Proficiency in using office software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
