Location: Melbourne, FL
Employment Type: Temp to Direct

Compensation: $17.00/hr + shift differential (based on experience)
Shift: 2nd Shift
Schedule: 3:15 PM - 11:45 PM
About the Opportunity:
Join a fast-paced electronics manufacturing team where your technical skills and attention to detail help drive the production of high-quality printed circuit board assemblies. As an SMT Operator I, you'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining specialized equipment used in surface mount technology (SMT) processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with advanced machinery, following structured production processes, and contributing to a team focused on quality and efficiency. You'll gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge PCB assembly equipment while supporting continuous improvement and new product introduction efforts.
What You'll Do:
* Set up, operate, and maintain SMT equipment including screen printers, glue machines, reflow ovens, placement machines, stencil cleaners, and conveyors
* Support daily production goals by ensuring the build plan is met according to production requirements
* Interface with complex machine hardware and software to support PCB assembly operations
* Identify, document, and report defective components and non-conforming material
* Perform minor machine adjustments and basic troubleshooting as needed
* Inspect your own work to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to workmanship standards
* Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including assisting with program setup, debugging, and training new operators
* Follow written and verbal instructions while maintaining accurate production data logs
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company and ESD standards
* Ensure accuracy of work-in-process materials and documentation throughout production

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6 months of machine experience
What Sets you apart:
  • Experience with NPI.
  • IPC-A-610 Certified.
  • ESD Training.
  • Knowledge of component identification and nomenclature.
  • Knowledge of component handling, including ESD requirements.
  • Basic computer skills, problem-solving, and workstation skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Capable of performing job functions utilizing written procedures, verbal instructions, and visual aids.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and IPC-610 requirements.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary.
  • Attention to detail.
