Maintenance Supervisor

Mechanical / Fabrication / Reliability Leader

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Location: Villa Rica, GA

Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM



Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor with strong millwright, fabrication, machining, and industrial troubleshooting capabilities to lead maintenance operations in a high-production truss manufacturing environment.

This role requires a hands-on leader capable of diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical equipment issues while directing technicians and coordinating maintenance activities across the facility.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in machinery installation, fabrication, welding, machining, and maintenance leadership while maintaining a strong focus on equipment reliability, safety, and technician development.

  • Calm and decisive during high-pressure downtime situations


Equipment & Systems You'll Oversee

  • Automated truss tables and gantry systems
  • Truss presses and plate pressing equipment
  • Board handling systems and automated conveyors
  • Lumber stackers, feeders, and transfer systems
  • Saw systems and material cutting equipment
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic machinery
  • Gearboxes, bearings, chains, and power transmission systems
  • Custom fabricated equipment and plant modifications


Core Responsibilities

  • Lead daily maintenance operations and coordinate technician workloads
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical equipment failures
  • Oversee installation, rebuild, and alignment of industrial machinery
  • Support fabrication projects including machine modifications and structural improvements
  • Guide technicians through troubleshooting of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, sensors, and controls
  • Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance programs are executed
  • Coordinate equipment repairs to minimize downtime and production interruptions
  • Mentor and develop maintenance technicians
  • Ensure maintenance work meets safety standards and electrical code requirements
  • Partner with operations and engineering to improve plant reliability and equipment performance


Example Projects You May Lead

  • Rebuilding or modifying truss press systems and gantry equipment
  • Major conveyor rebuilds or drive system replacements
  • Fabricating custom guards, fixtures, and machine modifications
  • Machining replacement components when OEM parts are unavailable
  • Installation and commissioning of new truss production equipment
  • Plant reliability improvements and equipment redesigns


Tools & Equipment Used

  • MIG / TIG / Stick welding equipment
  • Manual mills and lathes
  • Fabrication and cutting equipment
  • Rigging equipment for machinery installation
  • Electrical diagnostic tools and meters


Qualifications

  • 10-15+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • 3+ years as a maintenance lead or supervisor
  • Strong millwright background with mechanical troubleshooting expertise
  • Extensive welding and fabrication experience
  • Experience operating machining equipment such as mills and lathes
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical power transmission
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Working knowledge of motors, VFDs, sensors, and industrial control systems
  • Experience with truss manufacturing equipment or similar automated production equipment preferred
  • Proven leadership experience supervising technicians or maintenance teams
