Job Description Summary

The On-Site Packaging Builder/Backup Driver is responsible for constructing custom industrial packaging both at our production facility and at customer locations, as well as supporting transportation of materials and finished goods. This role requires hands-on building experience, the ability to safely operate tools and equipment, and the ability to travel to customer sites.

This position also serves as a backup driver and must be capable of operating company vehicles, including box trucks and flatbeds, to transport materials and products as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.



  1. Build custom crates, pallets, and packaging solutions at our facility and at customer sites.
  2. Use pneumatic nail guns, staple guns, and other hand/power tools safely and effectively.
  3. Read and follow work orders, specifications, and packaging instructions.
  4. Ensure all builds meet quality and customer requirements.
  5. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  6. Travel to customer locations to perform on-site packaging and crating.
  7. Represent FCA professionally while working at customer facilities.
  8. Follow all customer specific safety and security requirements.
  9. Coordinate with customer personnel to complete assigned work.
  10. Operate company vehicles including box trucks and flatbeds.
  11. Transport materials, tools, and finished products to and from customer sites.
  12. Assist with loading and unloading materials and products
  13. Ensure proper securement of loads in compliance with DOT requirements.
  14. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any maintenance concerns.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to pass FCA and customer employment eligibility screenings. Ability to meet customer site access requirements including background screening. Ability to safely operate tools and equipment used in the manufacturing process. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. CMV certification or willingness and ability to obtain certification. Experience operating box trucks and/or flatbed vehicles. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Previous experience in crating, packaging, or manufacturing environments.

Language Skills

Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret general business documents in English.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel out of state as needed.
