DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will assist with clerical tasks at the park, ensuring that the Ohiopyle Visitor Center, campground contact station, and launch area booth run efficiently. Your role will involve providing vital customer service to visitors through face-to-face interactions, phone calls, and emails, as well as organizing and filing important data. While stationed at one of the park's public contact points or the Visitor Center, you will act as a receptionist by welcoming and directing visitors, handling phone inquiries, taking messages, and sharing information about the park and nearby attractions. Additionally, you will process fees, issue permits, register campers, and keep the brochure rack organized. You will also perform various office tasks and light cleaning duties at the Visitor Center and contact stations. This includes using different software applications on park computers, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Internet Explorer, the Park Reservation System, and point of sale software. Daily, you will reconcile the cash drawer according to Bureau cash management policies, as well as copy, scan, sort, file, and retrieve documents. Furthermore, you will keep track of events and activities in Ohiopyle State Park by regularly updating the park's Outlook calendar. Interested in learning more? - This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately May 2026, until October 2026, at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately May 2027.
- Days/shifts will vary, will work 5 days/37.5 hours per week to include holidays and weekends
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
