DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will provide essential support to the County Maintenance Division by performing skilled body repair, painting, building maintenance, and equipment repair. Your work helps ensure that PennDOT's fleet and facilities remain safe, reliable, and ready to serve the traveling public. You will carry out a wide range of tasks involving body repair and painting of equipment, as well as general maintenance of machinery. This position requires journeyman-level proficiency across multiple trades, including body work, painting, carpentry, welding, masonry, electrical, and plumbing. Your responsibilities include performing body repairs and painting on department equipment, as well as mounting and unmounting tires to support the mechanics. You will complete masonry work on county maintenance buildings, bridges, guiderails, walkways, retaining walls, foundations, and concrete block structures-building forms, finishing concrete, and sealing surfaces as needed. Additionally, you will perform plumbing and electrical repairs to help maintain county maintenance facilities. Your craftsmanship and versatility in these trades play a vital role in keeping PennDOT's operations running smoothly and ensuring the safety and functionality of essential infrastructure. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
