Vehicle Upfit & Program Manager

The Vehicle Upfit Manager/Program Manager is responsible for leading and managing all performance part programs, contracts, upfit programs, logistical operations, and inventory management across all 3rd Party Body Vendor locations (Upfitters). This role requires a deep understanding of upfitter-specific customer needs and processes, as well as the ability to collaborate closely with SRT and Direct Connection leadership to ensure seamless execution of business objectives.

Key Responsibilities



  • Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for upfitter companies and key customers, addressing delivery requirements and ensuring satisfaction
  • Program Management: Develop, plan, and implement program goals and objectives in accordance with the core purpose, mission, and values of Direct Connection
  • Owner of Key Performance Indicators: Track all program costs, schedules and key performance indicators (KPI's) against established program milestones; reporting status to management stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Define and maintain program timing: coordination of projects and their interdependencies
  • Business Development: Support and lead new and existing business development initiatives
  • Strategic Guidance: Provide internal and external direction to implement best practices and optimize processes
  • Vehicle Logistics: Monitor vehicle movement within the upfit network and deliver accurate monthly reporting
  • Vendor Coordination: Manage and execute internal and external processes related to upfit operations, including ship-through programs
  • Communication Leadership: Organize and lead meetings with internal logistics stakeholders to ensure alignment
  • Reporting: Publish key documents and reports for internal and external stakeholders; maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Drive initiatives that improve operational efficiency and maximize performance across teams

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in engineering, operations, program management, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft tools (PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote)
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations, or a related discipline
  • Automotive industry experience in an operations role
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management skills
