NATURE AND SCOPE
The IT Product Owner plays a vital role within the IT organization, ensuring the successful delivery and continuous improvement of IT products. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, developers, architects, and other cross-functional IT teams to gather and prioritize product requirements, define features, and develop strategic product roadmaps. Additionally, the IT Product Owner will be responsible for ensuring the alignment of products with business goals and user needs. This position reports directly to the Director, IT Product Management.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Product Owner, IT Product Manager, or IT Business/Quality Analyst. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with enterprise IT products, such as ERP, CRM, BI, or ESB.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
4. Experience working with enterprise cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is preferred.
5. Strong customer focus and business acumen, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at various levels.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to balance competing priorities and trade-offs.
8. Must develop a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must understand and comply with all job-related State and Federal laws and regulations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Manage the product backlog, including gathering and prioritizing product requirements from stakeholders.
2. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and other IT teams to define product features and implement strategic roadmaps.
3. Ensure the quality, performance, and user satisfaction of IT products.
4. Monitor and measure the impact of IT products on business outcomes and technology strategies.
5. Manage and mitigate product risks and issues, escalating and resolving them as necessary.
6. Provide guidance, education, and feedback to IT teams and business stakeholders on product best practices and standards.
7. Stay informed on new and emerging technologies and trends that may impact IT products.
8. Create and maintain product documentation to promote transparency and collaboration across the IT organization.
9. Collaborate with IT teams (e.g., architecture, data, security, and infrastructure) to ensure product alignment and integration.
10. Provide clear and timely communication on product status, progress, and changes as appropriate.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
