Ameresco has a current opening for a Building Performance Engineer / Integration Specialist, you will play a critical role in deploying and scaling Ameresco's FDD capabilities. You'll work handson with building systems, data pipelines, and analytics while partnering closely with customers to ensure smooth adoption and longterm success. This role blends technical depth, problemsolving, and customer engagement-and offers the opportunity to make a measurable impact on building performance and sustainability outcomes.

Responsibilities:

System Integration & Analytics Deployment

  • Integrate data from customer building systems and platforms into Ameresco's AssetPlanner platform.
  • Evaluate each site to determine the most effective approach for data extraction and integration.
  • Configure, deploy, and support onsite gateways and edge devices for reliable data collection.
  • Map building automation system (BAS) points and deploy fault detection and performance analytics.
  • Configure dashboards, alerts, and workflows to support operations and decisionmaking.
  • Integrate utility and energy data from utility providers, submeters, and thirdparty sources.
  • Tune analytics, rules, and thresholds to improve accuracy and actionable insights over time.

Customer & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders throughout the integration lifecycle.
  • Communicate project status, technical challenges, and expected timelines clearly and proactively.
  • Support customers during onboarding and early adoption to ensure successful outcomes.

Data Quality & Operational Support

  • Monitor data streams and system connectivity to ensure data completeness, quality, and integrity.
  • Troubleshoot integration, networking, and data issues and drive timely resolution.
  • Document configurations, lessons learned, and best practices to support scalable deployments.
  • Perform additional duties as required in support of customer success and platform growth, and
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (engineering, computer science, data science, or similar).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • Working knowledge of IoT devices, data acquisition, and computer networking fundamentals.
  • Handson experience with Linux, SQL, and Python.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing (travel may be required).

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and building protocols.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, HVAC controls, and central plant operations.
  • Familiarity with energy data, utility billing, or submetering systems.
  • Experience supporting analytics, FDD, or performance monitoring platforms.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $76,300 -116,950 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.

Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
