Description

Vice President, Cyber Resilience (VP, Cyber Resilience)

Location: Remote \ Reports to: EVP, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) \ Department: Security, Risk & Compliance (SRC)

Why Absolute Security

Absolute Security is committed to ensuring that the business can operate through disruption-cyber incidents, technology failures, thirdparty outages, and enterprise crises. As cyber and operational disruptions become inevitable rather than exceptional, resilience is no longer a technical concern alone; it is a core business capability.

This role advances that mission by establishing and leading a companywide cyber and enterprise resilience program. The Vice President, Cyber Resilience will help ensure the organization can anticipate, withstand, recover from, and adapt to adverse events-while representing the company as a credible resilience leader with the Board, customers, partners, media, and the broader market.

The Opportunity

As Vice President of Cyber Resilience, you will serve as the senior owner of enterprise resilience and crisis management, reporting directly to the CISO. This role operates horizontally across the organization-partnering with Procurement, Legal, HR, Operations, IT, SRC, Communications, and business leadership-to embed resilience into how the company plans, operates, and responds to disruption.

You will own Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Disaster Recovery (DR), enterprise crisis management, resilience exercises, and thirdparty resilience. You will also act as a boardfacing executive and an externally visible leader, representing the company at conferences, industry events, media engagements, and through published research and thought leadership.

What You'll Do 1) Enterprise Resilience Leadership
  • Define and lead the company's enterprise cyber resilience strategy, aligned to business priorities, risk appetite, and regulatory expectations.
  • Translate resilience objectives into clear roadmaps, operating models, and measurable outcomes.
  • Partner with the CISO to elevate resilience from a functional capability to a companywide strategic imperative.
2) Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
  • Own and mature BCP and DR programs across technology, operations, and business functions.
  • Ensure critical business processes, systems, and dependencies have documented, tested, and executable recovery strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement of recovery readiness, including recovery objectives and interdependency mapping.
3) Exercises, Testing & Readiness
  • Design and lead tabletop exercises, crisis simulations, and recovery exercises for executives, senior leaders, and operational teams.
  • Coordinate crossfunctional exercises that test decisionmaking, escalation, communications, and recovery execution.
  • Drive postexercise reviews and ensure lessons learned result in tangible program and control improvements.
4) Enterprise Crisis Management
  • Own the enterprise crisis management framework, including governance, escalation models, and executive decision structures.
  • Lead and coordinate response during major enterprise incidents, ensuring alignment across Security, IT, Legal, HR, Operations, and Communications.
  • Serve as a central point of coordination with crisis communications stakeholders to ensure timely, consistent, and effective internal and external communications.
5) ThirdParty Risk & Resilience
  • Oversee thirdparty risk and resilience, including vendor dependency mapping, continuity expectations, and recovery readiness.
  • Lead and develop the thirdparty risk function, initially through one direct report, with anticipated growth over time.
  • Partner with Procurement, Legal, and SRC to integrate resilience requirements into vendor selection, contracting, and ongoing oversight.
6) Board & Executive Engagement
  • Act as a boardfacing leader, providing clear and actionable updates on resilience posture, readiness, risks, and improvement plans.
  • Advise executive leadership during highimpact incidents and crisis scenarios.
  • Ensure resilience risks and capabilities are articulated in business, operational, and fiduciary terms.
7) External Representation & Thought Leadership
  • Represent the company at conferences, industry forums, analyst briefings, and media engagements as a resilience leader.
  • Contribute to research, whitepapers, and thought leadership on cyber and enterprise resilience.
  • Partner with Marketing and Communications to help position the company as a trusted voice in resilience strategy and execution.
What You'll Bring Required
  • Advanced degree required (Master's or Doctorate) in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Risk Management, Business Continuity, Systems Engineering, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience across cybersecurity, technology risk, operational resilience, business continuity, or crisis management.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprisescale BCP/DR, crisis management, and resilience programs.
  • Proven experience operating at the executive and board level, including facilitating seniorlevel tabletop exercises and advising leaders during crises.
  • Strong understanding of cyber risk, technology dependencies, and thirdparty risk in complex organizations.
  • Experience building and leading teams, including developing new functions and capabilities over time.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex risk into clear business context.
Preferred
  • Experience in global or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with resiliencerelated frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, operational resilience guidance).
  • Prior experience representing an organization publicly or contributing to industry research and thought leadership.
How You'll Measure Success
  • Documented and tested enterprise resilience posture, including BCP, DR, and crisis management readiness.
  • Improved effectiveness and outcomes from resilience and crisis exercises.
  • Clear executive and board visibility into resilience risks and readiness.
  • Demonstrated improvement in thirdparty resilience and dependency management.
  • External recognition of the company's leadership in cyber and enterprise resilience.
