What's the role? Leads facility Radiation Safety, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety programs at assigned facilities to ensure building occupants to do their work in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. Develop and implement an effective Employee Health and Safety program, Life Safety, and sustainability program and align with other IQS facility manager(s). Maintain facility records and ensure their safety and compliance to standards and regulations. Create a safety improvement and functional plan and ensure related actions are successfully completed. Develop, maintain, and improve needed and existing safety programs for optimization, effectiveness, and that are leading and robust. Develop and implement a facility recycling and hazardous waste program to align with global sustainability requirements. Work directly with Management Team to ensure their facility EH&S needs are satisfied. Perform other related duties as directed to assist the Head of Business Excellence, Quality, & Digital Solutions. Develop, implement and train on an effective Employee Health and Safety program, fire alarm, and security system program.
Ensure building and employee safety and security at all times. Lead Emergency Response Team (ERT) and emergency readiness plans. Maintain Safety Data Sheet database. Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations in operations. Perform and log all facility GEMBA Safety Inspections. Lead all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements and compliance for on-site employees and contractors. Maintain and Implement ISO14001 requirements Apply, Obtain, and Maintain all site permits
Maintain DOT regulations Maintain RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) - HAZ WASTE Implement sound risk management
Utilize incident reporting, incident investigation, RCA (root cause analysis) and CAPA Maintain and Report OSHA 300 requirements Support & comply with the IQS ENHESA program
Radiation Safety: The RSO's duties and responsibilities include ensuring radiological safety and compliance with Federal, State and Local Requirements and the conditions of the license. These duties and responsibilities include ensuring the following:
Maintain, support and enforce the IQS Radiation Safety Program Manage the Team of RSA's Radiation exposures are ALARA Follows 10 CFR Part 20 and investigational levels Up-to-date radiation protection procedures in the daily operation of the licensee's radioactive equipment program are developed, distributed, and implemented Individuals installing, relocating, maintaining, or repairing devices containing sealed sources are trained and authorized by an NRC or Agreement State license Documentation is maintained to demonstrate that individuals are not likely to receive, in one year, a radiation dose in excess of 10% of the allowable limits or that personnel monitoring devices are provided When necessary, personnel monitoring devices are used and exchanged at the proper intervals, and records of the results of such monitoring are maintained. Documentation is maintained to demonstrate, by measurement or calculation, that the total effective dose equivalent to the individual likely to receive the highest dose from the licensed operation does not exceed the annual limit for members of the public.
Audits of the radiation protection program are performed at least annually, documented, recorded and stored in a file. If violations of regulations or license conditions or program weaknesses are identified, effective corrective actions are developed, implemented, and documented.
Licensed equipment is disposed of properly Appropriate records are maintained Up-to-date license is maintained, and amendment and renewal requests are submitted in a timely manner Provide periodic on-site direct supervision over the implementation of the Radiation Safety Program in technical and administrative issues by physically visiting the site. Dose records and surveys are reviewed quarterly ALARA practices are being followed New users and uses of radioactive equipment are reviewed prior to first use State applications and maintenance
Training for the employees should include:
Principles and practices of radiation protection Gauge safety training HAZMAT training Annual refreshers Ensure compliance of Security, Safety, and Corporate Policy.
Do you qualify? Education
Requires an associate degree or a minimum of 8 years related experience as a safety manager. Safety Management Certificate or equivalent training/credentials Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize assignments, and work through interruptions with minimal supervision. Ability to work under pressure and handle time constraints while multi-tasking. Ability to make decisions and handle difficult and confidential issues. Proactive in resolving problems. Outstanding organizational and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Detail-oriented with demonstrated project management skills. Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing department projects. Discretion and confidentiality. Demonstrated strength with MS Office, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
