Staff Fire Protection Engineer (EIT)


McMillen, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Staff Fire Protection Engineer (EIT) to join our team. The Staff Fire Protection Engineer will work at the direction of project engineers and managers applying various design engineering techniques, modeling methods, and construction support to deliver successful fire protection & life safety projects for federal, intelligence, and defense departments, and power utility companies.

Responsibilities:



  • Collects data and gathers information or documents.
  • Performs standard computations or analysis.
  • Performs basic design tasks.
  • Prepares drawings and visual aids.
  • Prepares portions of project documents.
  • Edits specifications.
  • Performs research and investigations.
  • Observes construction activities.
  • Performs basic site inspection work.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • EIT required
  • 0-5 years in fire protection engineering
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Skill in reading, interpreting and communicating contract documents, plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to construction projects
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently
  • Must have a flexible work schedule, be willing to travel up to 20%
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
  • Ability to get along and work effectively with others.

Compensation Package:



  • Pay Range: $66,000 - $82,000. (DOE)
  • Benefits: McMillen provides a full Benefits Program comprising medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA, EAP, HSA, 401(k) and match, 9 paid holidays, generous PTO, opportunity for stock ownership, and wellness reimbursement.
