JOB SUMMARY

The banquet bartenderserves beverages and/or food to guests at banquets, following recipes and standards. They also process payments, handle credit transactions, and enforce policies and regulations, such as not serving alcoholic drinks to minors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Provide courteous, efficient, and professional beverage service in accordance with banquet and company hospitality standards
  • Execute beverage service efficiently to support event timelines and minimize guest wait times
  • Maintain awareness of event flow including meal service, speeches, entertainment, and program transitions
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to beverage requests
  • Maintain composure and service quality during high-volume service periods
  • Address guest concerns professionally and escalate service issues to banquet leadership as appropriate
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of banquet beverage menus including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic offerings
  • Understand standard drink recipes, preparation techniques, and appropriate glassware usage
  • Review banquet event orders (BEOs) to understand hosted bars, cash bars, specialty cocktails, and service timelines
  • Be knowledgeable of event-specific beverage limitations, consumption packages, and service expectations
  • Set up banquet bar stations according to event specifications including stocking alcohol, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and service tools
  • Ensure bar presentation meets company standards for cleanliness, organization, and brand image
  • Prepare drinks consistently according to standardized recipes and portion guidelines
  • Ensure proper garnish, glassware, and presentation standards are maintained
  • Coordinate with banquet servers and captains to support overall event beverage flow
  • Follow all alcohol service laws, company policies, and safety procedures
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and take appropriate action to support responsible service
  • Maintain punctual attendance, proper uniform standards, and professional demeanor
  • Demonstrate teamwork and flexibility to support changing event demands
  • Break down bar stations following event completion including removal of supplies, glassware, and equipment
  • Clean and sanitize bar areas and return inventory to designated storage locations
  • Assist with waste disposal, recycling, and overall event space restoration
  • Reconcile sales or consumption records as required for cash bars or inventory tracking
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Banquet Captain, Lead Bartender, or Banquet Manager

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must hold a valid M.A.S.T. Class 12 or 13 Permit (Washington state serving license)
  • Must hold a valid Washington Food Worker Card (Health & Food Safety)
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience in Food and Beverage, preferably catering


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position is required to work evenings, weekends and holidays while in operation.
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 30 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Able to manipulate a full-size keg of beer (~160 pounds)
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
