The Opportunity

The Field Contract Administrator (FCA) provides field level contract and commercial management support during project execution. This role works closely with Construction, Project Management, Project Controls, Supply Chain, Legal, and Claims to ensure contracts are executed in accordance with approved terms, risks are proactively managed, and potential claims or disputes are identified early and mitigated.

The FCA serves as the on site commercial and contract interface between TC Energy and its contractors, helping bridge the gap between contract intent and field execution.

What you'll do

  • Administer construction and service contracts during execution to ensure compliance with approved agreements, pricing structures, and contractual obligations

  • Interpret contract terms and conditions for field teams and contractors, providing clear and practical guidance

  • Support the preparation, issuance, and administration of purchase orders, release orders, change orders, and contract amendments in coordination with Project Controls and Supply Chain

  • Ensure contract documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained

  • Conduct regular field visits and onsite observations to verify contractor compliance with contractual, commercial, and safety requirements

  • Monitor contractor deliverables including staffing plans, schedules, subcontractor lists, and required documentation

  • Document field observations, deviations, and issues with potential commercial or contractual impact

  • Proactively identify contract, commercial, and execution risks arising from field conditions or scope changes

  • Support early identification and management of change events to minimize cost, schedule, and dispute impacts

  • Assist in maintaining risk registers and documenting mitigation actions

  • Support claims avoidance efforts through timely issue identification, documentation, and coordination with Claims and Legal teams

  • Support contractor qualification and compliance activities, including review of submitted documentation and coordination with technical SMEs

  • Verify contractor adherence to specifications, inspection requirements, and required forms and records

  • Act as a key interface between Construction, Project Management, Project Controls, Supply Chain, Legal, and Claims

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to contract management processes, templates, training, and field execution practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract administration, construction management, or commercial management, preferably supporting large infrastructure or energy projects

  • Experience working directly with field teams and contractors during execution is strongly preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, commercial terms, and postaward contract administration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pipeline, facilities, or other large capital infrastructure projects

  • Exposure to claims support, dispute resolution, or commercial risk management

  • Familiarity with enterprise procurement, contract management, and project controls systems

  • Ability to identify and manage contractual risk drivers such as scope changes, noncompliance, and execution impacts

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with field personnel, contractors, and internal stakeholders

  • High attention to detail with strong documentation and followup discipline

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fastpaced field environments

  • Proactive, solutionsoriented approach focused on risk reduction and claims avoidance
